Why does the same model score differently in different comparisons?
A comparison only counts evals both sides ran, on the same benchmark target, under the same harness and effort. A different opponent means a different shared set, so the number moves. That is what keeps each page fair: nobody is credited for evals the other side never attempted.
What is a configuration?
A harness, the model it drives, and the effort tier it was told to use. Every run belongs to one, and a comparison can hold any of the three fixed while the others vary.
